I recommend going to your treatments alone. You’re more likely to talk to your fellow chemo and/or radiation patients. It’s almost like a support group. If you have a family member or friend with you, you are less likely to talk to anyone else. Also, going by yourself makes it seem more like just another doctor’s appointment, rather than a big ordeal. I got really friendly with a couple of my oncology nurses. They were wonderful…and very funny! Sometimes I’d leave there thinking ‘How in the world did I have fun at a chemo treatment?’ Not that I wasn’t very happy when I had my last treatment!
